Woman Chess Teacher

Thifanni brings a fresh and creative approach to every class she teaches, combining her deep understanding of chess with a genuine passion for helping others learn. She is known as a friendly and patient instructor whose enthusiasm for the game is both evident and contagious. Her ability to make chess engaging and accessible allows students to feel comfortable, curious, and motivated from the very beginning.

Her teaching philosophy is centred on the belief that every student learns differently. Thifanni takes the time to understand each individual’s learning process, strengths, and motivations, and uses this insight to tailor her lessons accordingly. By creating a supportive and encouraging environment, she helps students build not only their technical skills but also their confidence, focus, and resilience.

Thifanni’s achievements in chess reflect both her dedication and her talent. In 2016, she won the U18 Female Brazilian Championship and represented the winning Brazilian team at the 2012 South American Scholar Olympiads. Throughout her academic journey, she remained a committed chess athlete, competing as part of a team representing Mogi das Cruzes in São Paulo in state-level competitions.

Alongside her chess career, Thifanni pursued a degree in Psychology at Minas Gerais Federal University. This academic background strengthens her teaching approach, allowing her to better understand how students think, learn, and overcome challenges. She brings this perspective into every lesson, helping students develop strong problem-solving skills and a positive mindset.

Before joining STEM the Gap Academy, Thifanni taught both group classes and one-on-one lessons in Brazil, working with students of varying ages and skill levels. Her experience, combined with her passion for education, makes her a thoughtful and impactful educator who is committed to helping each student reach their full potential.
