Join us this holiday season for a week of strategy, problem-solving, and fun! This Christmas break, you and your family can come together to learn chess. For the girls, there’s an extra reward — she’ll earn a chess patch and the Rook Charm!

We’ll cover:

How each piece moves and how to set up the board
Attacking with confidence
Defending your pieces
Check & checkmate
Castling
How to open your game strong

Each day brings lessons plus friendly online games, giving the girls a chance to practice new skills while having fun with friends. Why chess? Because it’s exciting, creative, and smart! Chess builds problem-solving skills and strengthens math — studies show kids who play chess alongside math improve faster than kids who only study math.

Course Time: 10:30 A.M - 11:45 A.M EST

Course Dates: December 26, 27,28, 29, & 30, 2025

Course Duration: Daily 75-minute sessions: 40 minutes of lesson, 10-minute break, then 25 minutes to get online and start playing

Course Fee: $120

Prerequisites: Has earned a chess patch or knows how the pieces move. No chessboards are needed, as activities will be conducted using a virtual chessboard.

Badge and Patch Earned: After completing the course, each Girl Scout will understand how to checkmate and the basic rules of chess. The Chess Girl Patch with a rook charm will be mailed directly to you.
