If your girl plans to participate in the chess tournament, she must register with the Chess Federation of Canada to receive an ID number. To do this, simply create an account, and she will be provided with an ID number. Once she has obtained the ID num, she will become eligible to receive her chess rating and must present the ID number during the tournament. However, if she is attending the workshop, there is no need for a separate registration.

WHAT IS A
CHESS RATING, AND
WHY SHOULD I GET ONE?

A chess rating is a system used to assess a player's skill level based on their performance against other players. Having a rating enables players to be matched accurately and provides clarity regarding the tournaments they are eligible to participate in.
