Artificial Intelligence (AI) Patch for Seniors & Ambassadors
In this class, girls are introduced to the rapidly evolving world of Artificial Intelligence and the role it plays in shaping how we live, communicate, and solve problems. The session begins by exploring how AI systems work at a foundational level, helping participants understand that these technologies are built through logic, data, and human input rather than magic.
A key focus is Natural Language Processing, the branch of AI that allows computers to interpret and respond to human language. Girls will see how this technology powers tools they may already use, from virtual assistants to chat-based platforms. They will then apply this understanding by designing and building their own simple chatbot, learning how responses are structured and how systems are trained to recognise patterns in language.
Participants will also be introduced to beginner-level coding concepts connected to AI development. This provides a practical lens into how intelligent systems are created and refined. The goal is not memorisation, but comprehension, allowing girls to see how their ideas can translate into functional technology.
Throughout the class, there is an emphasis on curiosity and exploration. Girls are encouraged to ask questions, test ideas, and think critically about both the possibilities and responsibilities that come with AI. The session also highlights the expanding range of careers in this space, offering a glimpse into pathways they may not have previously considered.
By the end of the class, participants leave with a clearer understanding of how AI works, hands-on experience creating with it, and a sense of confidence in their ability to engage with emerging technologies as future creators and leaders.
