Coding Badge 2 & 3 for Daisies

In the Brownies Digital Game Design and App Development badge, girls step into the role of creators as they explore how games and apps come together from idea to experience while working toward earning their Digital Game Design and App Development badges. This session focuses on building something from scratch and seeing how small decisions shape the final result.

Participants begin by designing a maze-based game, where they decide how a player moves, what stands in the way, and what makes the experience engaging. As they test their games, they will notice what works, what does not, and how even small changes can completely alter the outcome. This introduces them to how digital experiences are shaped through continuous adjustment.

The second part of the workshop shifts toward designing something useful. Girls will think about a simple, everyday challenge and map out how an app could respond to it. They will organise their ideas, decide what information is needed, and outline how the app would guide a user from one step to the next.

Empowerment in this class is built through ownership. Girls are given the space to make choices, follow their ideas, and see those ideas take form. There is no single right answer, which allows them to approach challenges in their own way.

By the end of the badge, participants will have built a playable game and outlined an app concept, while developing a stronger sense of how their ideas can move from imagination into something functional and real.

This version avoids your repeated phrases, shifts tone, and uses different conceptual framing.
