Melissa is a recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Mathematics, bringing both analytical depth and creativity to her work with students. With over five years of experience in education as a piano teacher, tutor, and teaching assistant, she has developed a teaching style that is patient, engaging, and responsive to individual learning needs. She is known for creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, exploring new ideas, and developing their skills at their own pace.

Outside of the classroom, Melissa is a competitive weightlifter, an experience that has shaped her perspective on resilience and representation. Navigating a space that is often male-dominated has given her a firsthand understanding of the challenges girls may face when stepping into unfamiliar or intimidating environments. This informs how she shows up as an educator, not only teaching content but also supporting students as they build a sense of self-belief.

Melissa is committed to helping girls feel capable in spaces where they may not always see themselves reflected. She encourages them to take initiative, engage with challenges, and recognise their ability to grow through effort and persistence. By combining technical knowledge with a thoughtful and supportive approach, she helps students develop both competence and a stronger sense of belonging in STEM.
