I am a Master’s student in Pathology at McGill University, where my research focuses on Gynaecological Cancers. Originally from Colombia, I completed my medical training while also pursuing a degree in Biological Engineering. Throughout my academic journey, I repeatedly witnessed the significant gap that still exists for women in science — not only in numbers, but in expectations and opportunities.

For me, empowering girls in STEM means much more than teaching formulas or preparing for exams. It means challenging stereotypes, building self-confidence, and creating spaces where girls feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow without fear. It means showing them — through both words and example — that they belong in these fields.

In every lesson, I remind my students that they have no limits. They can be as successful as they choose to be, in any area they pursue, despite the challenges they may face. I strive to lead by example, embodying resilience, passion for knowledge, and unwavering commitment.
